COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Clear and Effective Communications provides expertise in succession planning, customizing and delivering training programs, facilitation, consultative services, training trainers, and guest speaking.

SUCCESSION PLANNING: As the Baby Boomer generation begins to retire, they no longer will pass along their experience, knowledge, and management skills to their organizations. Succession planning is a method of ensuring that your organization has the right people in place to function effectively at peak capacity. It also serves to preserve organizational memory and knowledge. Using a combination of feedback, coaching, and mentoring, our approach will ensure that you have a solid plan to replace people who retire or leave the organization, and that you will be able to internally operate our model with great success.

TRAINING:

All of our training sessions are custom designed to best meet the needs of our clients. Our methodology, which enables us to achieve excellent long-term results, includes the following steps:

Review relevant literature, e.g. mission, vision, value statements, organizational charts, business plans, strategic goals, job descriptions
Design, deliver and analyze written assessment to customize training; this is followed by focus groups (face to face, telephone, e-mail)
Design training and pre-course work for participants
Training session(s) Participants receive a training packet and leave with an assignment ensuring that they will use the skills on the job. They also leave with a specific action plan
Follow-up session where successes are reinforced and challenges addressed. This session can be done face to face, via e-mail, or using a written questionnaire
Work with internal personnel to ensure long term follow-up and follow-through
Meeting with appropriate personnel to provide written report of results of training, including recommendations

The dynamic male/female team of Lynda Bader and Henry Brashen, facilitates all of our training sessions. Our highly interactive approach allows us to provide individual attention when needed, break a group into smaller groups if necessary, and role model all of the skills we present. Our training sessions include role playing, short lectures, demonstrations, assessments, group discussions, simulations, and case studies. Examples used as content during the training are drawn from actual situations found during the upfront research.

Some of our training topics include:

Interpersonal communication skills
Conflict resolution
Management/supervisory training
Time and stress management
Remote management
Effective meetings
Feedback
Leadership
Oral presentation skills

FACILITATION:

We facilitate retreats, meetings, and interventions. We are particularly effective when facilitating sessions with dysfunctional teams and conducting leadership retreats. As with our training approach, we customize these sessions to achieve positive outcomes. For example, we recently worked with a team that was not productive or motivated. We were able to increase both productivity and motivation by clarifying decision making, roles and responsibilities, providing skills in giving and receiving feedback, identifying priorities, and establishing operating norms.

In terms of facilitating leadership retreats, we recently conducted a very successful session for an executive team to clarify their vision, mission, and goals. We also worked with them on how to manage organizational change and how to reward and reinforce employees. We worked with another team that was engaging in a power struggle and we resolved that by helping them clarify their vision and goals, and providing them with conflict resolution skills.

All of our facilitations culminate with individual and team action plans.

CONSULTATIVE SERVICES:

We provide services such as needs analyses and surveys, design of training, performance management development, and coaching.

Our needs analyses have been designed to measure organizational effectiveness, employee satisfaction, communication challenges, and training needs. We have designed performance appraisal instruments and the training that introduces the performance management system.

We offer one-on-one coaching for all levels in an organization. The coaching sessions are highly interactive utilizing discussion, teaching role playing and problem solving. Often the coach will be a sounding board for the person being coached. Written material to supplement the coaching is provided as necessary. Each coaching session concludes with an Action Plan to facilitate transferring the skills practiced during the session to the workplace. The coach is available for consultation by phone, and/or e-mail between coaching sessions.

TRAIN THE TRAINER:

We train internal personnel to become trainers and coaches. We train them to conduct our trainings using our training materials, or we teach them to conduct their own trainings. Sample sessions include learning styles, course development, presentation skills, classroom communication problems, facilitation skills, measuring training results, partnering with external consultants, and delivery options in a " high tech" environment.

GUEST SPEAKING:

Dynamic, motivating presentations are delivered at conferences and retreats on selected topics of interest. These presentations usually range in length from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
